It is Christmas time! the castle is stirring. Everyone is getting ready for the festive meal… except chevalier Guillaume, Dame Jeanne and Maître Hugues. Those 3 gourmets are real scatterbrains, they spread their possessions throughout the castle. Will they be ready in time? That is what the children will find out!

The duke François II invited glorious knights to an important tournament in Nantes. Children, as apprentice knights are required to assist Mahé, an awkward esquire. It is imperative for the knights to be ready to compete.

In the year 1476, a few days before Christmas, it is time to organise the big feast in the castle. The children will prove they are some of the best artists in the Duché de Bretagne. Glory and gold in addition!

The great film makers have always been fascinated by the Middle Ages. Children participate to the creation of a movie on  knights. Scenario, costumes, casting, choices will be necessary. Following the discovery of the exhibition, children let their imagination take over in the trailer of the film.

During a visit of the exhibition followed by a workshop, the children and the adults get trough the stages to become a knight. Courage, loyalty and creativity are essential in order to fulfil their missions.

The visit  is adapted for adults and children between 6 and 12.

Ticket and time slot booking granting access to the exhibition, the ticket is valid for the indicated date and time (entry to the exhibition within 30 minutes following the selected time slot is guaranteed).

Average time of the visit  : 1h30.

The ticket is also valid for admission to the museum's permanent collections. Throughout its 32 rooms the museum showcases over 1150 objets in its collection.

The pass musées does not allow to skip the queue, a time slot is required.

On the 1st Sunday of every month, except July and August, the admission is free, you can go directly to the exhibition.

Free admission and specific tariffs are subject to the presentation of a valid entitlement.

Ticket to visit the museum's permanent collections in your own way. To visit the exhibition the same day, please book a ticket "Temporary exhibition + permanent collections".

Ticket available the whole day from 10 am. Throughout its 32 rooms, the history museum showcases over 1,150 objects in its collection.

Access to the museum is free all the first Sunday of every month (except on July ans August), without reservation.
24 and 31 december exceptional opening time : 10 am to 4 pm.

Free access and specific rates on presentation of a suitable evidence dated within the past 6 months.

Chevaliers guided tour : thanks to over 150 original objects from the stibbert collection, this exhibition will allow us to explore the figure of the knight. New themes will also be explored, like French and Breton chivalry, the role of women in this very masculine world, and the myth of the knight in the arts, literature, and film in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The visit is adapted for adults and young people over 13.

Dans le cadre du festival Trajectoires.

Co-réalisation : TU-Nantes, Château des ducs de Bretagne et Centre chorégraphique national de Nantes (CCNN). Avec la participation de l'ASUN.

CHOEUR est une pièce chorégraphique qui se transforme au gré des groupes et des lieux. Ce CHOEUR au château est vécu par environ 60 danseurs amateurs et amatrices et le musicien Tedaak, invité pour y jouer sa prose.
Ensemble nous créons des tableaux vivants qui résonnent avec le monde, avec le présent, avec ce qui nous anime. Chuter, nous relever, nous laisser toucher. Tout simplement vibrer individuellement et collectivement.

Durée : 1h30 environ (déambulation libre)
Lieu : rendez-vous à l'accueil du musée d'histoire de Nantes

Réservation par créneau horaire. Si vous arrivez plus de 30 minutes après votre créneau, votre entrée n'est plus garantie.
